Decades

Halftime at football game in 1933.

1930 - 1939

With the 1930s comes the Great Depression and low enrollment into the college. Yet during this time, students and faculty on campus managed to keep their spirits high. During the 1934-1935 school year, many physical changes happened on campus. The front of Russ Hall was renovated, Cleveland Avenue was widened, and many trees were planted. Also, an observatory was added to the roof of Russ Hall. Then in 1938, the two separate men’s and women’s pep clubs merged into one organization.
