Graphic Design
The Graphic Design Emphases is committed to teaching professional skills that allow students to plan and execute visual communication. When going through our program, students will learn every process involved from design to production, such as working with Raster and Vector Graphics, Page Layout, Design Theory, and Printing. Graphic Design students will graduate with the skills and knowledge to be successful in any graphics position they choose.
WHAT OUR PROGRAM LOOKS LIKE
Advanced Graphic Design
Learn the integration of design principles, software, typography, and technology to execute the design process from visualization to production.
Motion Graphics Software
Learn techniques and procedures for applying the principles of animation to produce 2D animated projects using motion graphics software for web and digital media outputs
Print File Preparation and Pre-flighting
Learn to determine proper workflow techniques from file generation to print production. Emphases is placed on troubleshooting and managing files as well as determining proper file structure based on the required output
Inclusive Design
Students will learn about the principles of inclusive design, including empathy, diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will explore case studies and best practices in inclusive design, and gain an understanding of the social and ethical implications of design decisions.
Publication Design
Students will learn document design and production for print and electronic delivery.
Branding Strategy / Portfolio Management
Learn how to develop, critique and refine student work for presentation in a professional design portfolio. Professional issues related to the graphic communications industry
