Print Media & Packaging Design
This emphases features the latest methods and practices in today’s printing industry and packaging technologies. Students will learn how to input, manipulate, and output graphics and packaging designs. When graduating, students will have the skills necessary to operate sufficiently on a wide variety of media, including packaging design, quality control, print portfolios, and multimedia production.
WHAT OUR PROGRAM LOOKS LIKE
Print File Preparation and Preflight
Learn to determine proper workflow techniques from file generation to print production. Emphases is placed on troubleshooting and managing files as well as determining proper file structure based on the required output
Specialty Graphics
Screen printing, wide-format printing, pad printing and other specialty printing principles and applications. Digital file preparation and printing of project
Retail Packaging
Design and development of packaging for retail applications. Structural and graphic design for consumer-packaged goods including rigid, flexible, and paperboard substrates will be covered
Publication Design
Document design and production for print and electronic delivery
Environmental Graphics
Students will receive a comprehensive hands-on approach to design, production and installation of large scale graphic projects including: interior and exterior signage, window, wall and fleet/vehicle graphics
Project Profitability
Cost analysis and estimating for graphic communications projects and companies. Strategies for effectively managing project budgets, and developing pricing structures that maximize profitability
Commerical Packaging
Design and development of packaging for commercial applications. Structural and graphic design for subscription boxes, e-commerce, direst-to-consumer, business to business and transport applications will be covered
